Description

Crispy, spicy, and utterly addictive, these air fryer firecracker wings are the ultimate game-day or party snack. Perfectly cooked in the air fryer and tossed in a bold, flavorful sauce, these wings are sure to be a hit with everyone.

Ingredients

– 2 pounds chicken wings, drumettes and flats separated

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1 teaspoon onion powder

– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

– 1 tablespoon brown sugar

– 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

– 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

– 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

3. Working in batches if necessary, arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until the wings are crispy and cooked through.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the hot sauce, melted butter, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).

5. Transfer the cooked wings to the sauce mixture and toss to fully coat the wings.

6. Serve the air fryer firecracker wings immediately, with your favorite dipping sauce or celery sticks on the side.

Notes

For extra crispy wings, pat the wings dry with paper towels before seasoning. You can also broil the wings for 2-3 minutes after air frying to get an even crispier exterior.
