Can You Make Pancakes In An Air Fryer?

Absolutely, you can cook pancakes using the Air Fryer. It is necessary to use cake barrels or a pizza pan for cooking the pancakes with.

Also, you must warm up your cake barrel or pizza pan as you prepare your Air Fryer.

Otherwise, it would take very long for your first pancakes to be cooked.

To be honest, pancakes cooked using an air Fryer isn’t as fast as compared with cooking pancakes on the stovetop, but if an Air Fryer is all you need, it’s a fantastic option.

The pancakes can be left without flipping them, but I prefer to give each side a little color and flip the pancakes halfway through.

Air Fryer Pancakes Ingredients

The following ingredients are required to cook these delicious pancakes using the air fryer:

Buttermilk Pancake Mix: You can absolutely make your own homemade pancake batter! The recipe is exactly as it does and will still turn out fantastic! For ease, I usually make it using a store-bought Buttermilk Pancake Mix. Buttermilk will make the most fluffy pancakes.

Optional toppings: I topped my pancakes with fresh vanilla whipping cream blueberries, walnuts, and plenty in maple syrup. Of course, the sky is the limit! Serve your pancakes with whatever you desire!

What if I don’t have buttermilk?

Don’t worry! It is possible to make buttermilk from your home. Mix the milk (dairy or not) together with acid such as the white vinegar, or juice of a lemon, and put the mixture in the refrigerator for between 10 to 15 minutes. In this period, the mixture will begin to become curdled (not the most attractive however it will do the trick).

In the recipe below we will need 2 cups of buttermilk. This means you’ll have to mix the following ingredients:

  • 2 cups of milk (dairy or not)
  • 2 tablespoons of white vinegar, or juice.

The best tip for storing pancakes is to allow them to cool down to room temperature prior to placing them in the refrigerator. If you store them in hot temperatures they’ll create condensation, which can make the pancakes wet. It is possible to wrap pancakes in foil, then put them in the fridge or put the pancakes in an airtight container.
