These quick and easy Thanksgiving Green Beans are the perfect side dish for your holiday feast. Tender, buttery, and packed with flavor, this healthy-ish recipe will have everyone coming back for seconds.
Ingredients
– 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
– 2 tbsp unsalted butter
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1/8 tsp black pepper
– 2 tbsp toasted sliced almonds (optional garnish)
Instructions
1. 1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 3-5 minutes, until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
2. 2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
3. 3. Add the cooked green beans to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter. Season with salt and pepper.
4. 4. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are heated through.
5. 5. Transfer the Thanksgiving Green Beans to a serving dish and garnish with toasted sliced almonds, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a more indulgent version, you can add a splash of heavy cream or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese at the end. These green beans also reheat well, making them a great make-ahead side dish.
