Description

Indulge in the irresistible flavors of brown butter, apples, and a cinnamon maple glaze with these easy and decadent Brown Butter Apple Blondies.

Ingredients

– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

– 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup diced apples (about 2 medium apples)

– 1 cup powdered sugar

– 2 tablespoons maple syrup

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. – Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides.

2. – In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it turns a deep golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer the browned butter to a heatproof bowl and let it cool slightly.

3. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined. Slowly pour in the browned butter, whisking constantly until the mixture is smooth.

4. – In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.

5. – Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6. – Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan.

7. – In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and cinnamon until smooth. Drizzle the cinnamon maple glaze over the cooled blondies.

8. – Cut the blondies into squares and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use a firm, tart apple variety like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. The browned butter adds a rich, nutty flavor that complements the apples and cinnamon perfectly.
