– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions
1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. 2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
3. 3. Add the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
4. 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. 5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until the dough comes together.
6. 6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
7. 7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
8. 8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a more pronounced maple flavor, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of maple extract to the dough. These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
