Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 tablespoon white sugar

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 3/4 cup milk

– 1 cup brown sugar

– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

– 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

– 1/4 cup powdered sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch round baking pan.

2. – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, white sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. – Gradually stir in the milk until a soft dough forms. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly.

4. – Roll dough into a 12×8-inch rectangle. Spread the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough.

5. – Tightly roll up the dough, starting from the short side. Slice the roll into 9 equal pieces and place in the prepared baking pan.

6. – Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.

7. – In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.

Notes

For an extra indulgent treat, add a sprinkle of chopped pecans or walnuts to the cinnamon sugar filling. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
