Description

Tender, juicy chicken wrapped in crispy wonton shells, topped with a fresh slaw and a zesty sauce – these Crispy Chicken Wonton Tacos are a mouthwatering fusion of flavors that are perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal or entertaining.

Ingredients

– 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces

– 1 package (12 count) wonton wrappers

– 2 cups shredded cabbage

– 1 cup shredded carrots

– 2 green onions, thinly sliced

– 1/4 cup rice vinegar

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce

– 1 tablespoon sesame oil

– 1 teaspoon honey

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, carrots, and green onions. In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the slaw and toss to coat. Set aside.

2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1-2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

3. Working in batches, carefully place the wonton wrappers into the hot oil and fry for 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

4. In the same skillet, cook the chicken over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through and no longer pink.

5. To assemble, place a portion of the chicken in each crispy wonton shell. Top with the slaw and any desired sauces or toppings.

6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

– For extra flavor, add a drizzle of sriracha or your favorite Asian-inspired sauce.

– The fried wonton shells can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

– Leftover slaw can be used as a topping for other dishes or enjoyed on its own.
