Ingredients

– 3 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1 tablespoon sugar

– 1 package (7g) active dry yeast

– 1 1/2 cups warm water

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted


Instructions

1. 1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, and yeast. Stir to mix.

2. 2. Add the warm water and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Use a wooden spoon to mix until a shaggy dough forms.

3. 3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

4. 4. Grease the inside of a 4-6 quart crock pot. Place the dough into the crock pot and cover with the lid.

5. 5. Cook on high for 2-2.5 hours, or until the top is golden brown and the bread is cooked through.

6. 6. Remove the bread from the crock pot and let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

– For a crispy crust, remove the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

– Try adding herbs, cheese, or other mix-ins to the dough for extra flavor.

– Store leftover bread in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
