This easy crockpot green bean casserole is the ultimate comfort food side dish for the holidays. Tender green beans are cooked to perfection in a rich, creamy sauce and topped with crispy fried onions for an irresistible flavor and texture.

Ingredients

– 2 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces

– 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup

– 1 cup sour cream

– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 1 (2.8 oz) can crispy fried onions

Instructions

1. – Place the trimmed and cut green beans in a 4-quart crockpot.

2. – In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.

3. – Pour the creamy mixture over the green beans in the crockpot and stir to coat the beans evenly.

4. – Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, until the green beans are tender.

5. – Remove the lid and sprinkle the crispy fried onions evenly over the top of the casserole.

6. – Cook for an additional 15 minutes, uncovered, until the onions are lightly browned.

7. – Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

– For a creamier casserole, use 1 1/2 cups of sour cream.

– Swap out the cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken or celery if desired.

– Add 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese for an extra cheesy version.
