Tender beef simmered in a rich, Thai-inspired sauce makes this Crockpot Thai Basil Beef an unforgettable weeknight meal. Fragrant with fresh basil, this easy recipe comes together in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

– 1 lb beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes

– 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

– 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves

Instructions

1. 1. In a crockpot, combine the beef, fish sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).

2. 2. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the beef is very tender.

3. 3. Stir in the fresh Thai basil leaves and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes.

4. 4. Serve the Crockpot Thai Basil Beef immediately over steamed white rice.

Notes

This recipe can be made with other types of beef, such as sirloin or flank steak. For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes. The beef can also be shredded after cooking for a different texture.
