Ingredients
– 1 lb beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
– 1/4 cup fish sauce
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons brown sugar
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon grated ginger
– 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
– 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
– Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
1. 1. In a crockpot, combine the beef, fish sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
2. 2. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the beef is very tender.
3. 3. Stir in the fresh Thai basil leaves and let the mixture sit for 5 minutes.

Notes
This recipe can be made with other types of beef, such as sirloin or flank steak. For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes. The beef can also be shredded after cooking for a different texture.
