Ingredients
– 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
– 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and grated
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. – In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
2. – Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
3. – Serve chilled with pita bread, falafel, grilled meats, or as a dip for fresh vegetables.
Notes
– For a thicker sauce, strain the grated cucumber through a fine-mesh sieve to remove excess moisture.
– Customize the flavor by adjusting the amount of lemon juice, garlic, or dill to your taste.
– Store leftover tzatziki sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
