Ingredients
– 1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
– 1 cup marinara sauce
– 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
– Fresh basil leaves (for serving)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Place the French bread halves, cut-side up, on a large baking sheet.
3. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the bread, leaving a small border.
4. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the sauce.
5. Sprinkle the oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using) over the cheese.
6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden brown.
7. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
8. Slice the French bread pizza and serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves.

– For freezer prep, assemble the pizzas up to the baking step. Wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months. Bake from frozen, adding 2-3 minutes to the baking time.
