Ingredients
– 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 6 burger buns, split and toasted
– Lettuce, tomato, and any desired condiments
Instructions
1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
2. Set up a breading station with the flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with the paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Dredge the shrimp in the flour, dip in the egg, and then coat in the seasoned breadcrumbs.
4. Heat 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Fry the breaded shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
6. Drain the fried shrimp on a paper towel-lined plate.
7. Assemble the Fried Shrimp Burgers by placing the fried shrimp on the toasted buns and topping with lettuce, tomato, and any desired condiments.
Notes
For best results, use fresh, high-quality shrimp. The breading can also be used to make fried shrimp as an appetizer. Serve the burgers with coleslaw, fries, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
