Description

This Garlic Miso Chicken is a quick and easy Japanese-inspired dish that delivers bold umami flavor in just 30 minutes. The chicken is coated in a sticky, savory glaze made with miso paste, garlic, ginger, and a touch of honey for caramelized perfection.

Ingredients

– 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

– 2 tablespoons white or yellow miso paste

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce

– 1 tablespoon honey

– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

– 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, combine the chicken, miso paste, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and honey. Toss to coat the chicken evenly.

2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

3. Add the chicken mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the glaze is thick and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.

4. Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions.

5. Serve the Garlic Miso Chicken immediately, over steamed rice if desired.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the miso mixture. You can also use boneless, skinless chicken breasts in place of thighs if preferred.
