Description
This homemade Garlic Parmesan Focaccia is a simple yet flavorful bread that’s perfect for any occasion. With a crisp, golden-brown crust and a soft, chewy interior, it’s sure to become a new family favorite.
Ingredients
– 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
– 1 1/4 cups (295ml) warm water
– 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil, plus more for drizzling
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/2 cup (50g) grated parmesan cheese
– 2 tablespoons (10g) fresh rosemary, chopped
Instructions
1. – In a large bowl, combine the flour and yeast. Stir in the warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil until a shaggy dough forms.
2. – Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
3. – Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
4. – Punch down the dough to release any air bubbles. Transfer the dough to a greased 9×13-inch baking pan and use your fingers to spread it out to the edges.
5. – Drizzle the top of the dough with a little olive oil and use your fingertips to create dimples all over the surface.
6. – Sprinkle the minced garlic, parmesan cheese, and chopped rosemary evenly over the top.
7. – Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden brown and crispy on the edges.
8. – Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with additional olive oil, if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
For best results, use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The focaccia can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply place in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5-10 minutes.
