– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
– 1 cup warm milk
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
– 1/4 cup brown sugar
– 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
– 2 tablespoons milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Orange and black sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
1. 1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast. Stir to mix.
2. 2. Add the warm milk and melted butter, and stir until a dough forms.
3. 3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. 4. Roll the dough into a large rectangle, about 12×18 inches.
5. 5. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.
6. 6. Roll the dough tightly into a log, starting from the long side. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
7. 7. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
8. 8. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
9. 9. In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
10. 10. Drizzle the warm rolls with the glaze and top with orange and black sprinkles, if desired.
Notes
For an extra festive touch, add a few drops of orange or black food coloring to the glaze. The rolls can be prepared the night before and refrigerated before baking.
