Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 3 large eggs
– 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 cup guava puree
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until light and fluffy. Gradually pour in the melted butter, whisking constantly to combine.
4. Add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Fold in the guava puree until evenly distributed.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
8. Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar. The cake can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
