Description

This homemade chili recipe is a quick, easy, and incredibly flavorful dish that’s ready in just 30 minutes. It’s perfect for a weeknight dinner, packed with ground beef, beans, and a blend of spices that create a rich, satisfying meal.


Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 1 bell pepper, diced

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 tablespoons chili powder

– 1 teaspoon cumin

– 1 teaspoon oregano

– 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

– 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes

– 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

– 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed

– 1 cup beef broth

– Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1. – In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes.

2. – Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the pot and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until softened.

3. – Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

4. – Add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, smoked paprika, and cayenne (if using). Stir to coat the beef and vegetables.

5. – Pour in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth. Stir to combine.

6. – Bring the chili to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened to your desired consistency.

7. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

For a creamier chili, you can add a small can of tomato sauce or 1/4 cup of masa harina (corn flour) to thicken it up. You can also customize the spice level by adjusting the amount of cayenne pepper. Serve with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped onions.
