Ingredients
– 3 cups diced green apples (about 4 medium apples)
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 cup water
– 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the diced green apples, sugar, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are very soft and the liquid has thickened into a syrupy consistency.
3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice.
4. Allow the syrup to cool slightly, then use an immersion blender or regular blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
5. Pour the Homemade Green Apple Syrup into a clean glass jar or container and let it cool completely before refrigerating.
Notes
The syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. It’s delicious drizzled over pancakes, waffles, yogurt, or even used in cocktails for a refreshing twist.
