Description

This homemade stuffing recipe is a classic, old-fashioned side dish that’s easy to make and packed with savory, herb-infused flavor. It’s the perfect accompaniment to your Thanksgiving turkey or Christmas ham, and can also be enjoyed as a comforting weeknight meal.

Ingredients

– 1 loaf of day-old bread, cubed

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 stalks of celery, diced

– 3 cloves of garlic, minced

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter

– 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

– 1 tsp dried sage

– 1 tsp dried thyme

– 1 tsp dried parsley

– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. – In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and celery, and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.

3. – Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute, until fragrant.

4. – In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with the cubed bread. Pour in the broth and gently mix to coat the bread.

5. – Season the mixture with the dried sage, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir to incorporate the seasonings evenly.

6. – Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish or casserole.

7. – Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden-brown and crispy.

8. – Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a moister stuffing, add an extra 1/4 cup of broth. For a drier, more crispy texture, reduce the broth by 1/4 cup. You can also customize the herbs and seasonings to your taste preferences.
