Ingredients
– 1 loaf of day-old bread, cubed
– 1 onion, diced
– 3 stalks of celery, diced
– 3 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter
– 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
– 1 tsp dried sage
– 1 tsp dried thyme
– 1 tsp dried parsley
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. – In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and celery, and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
3. – Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute, until fragrant.
4. – In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with the cubed bread. Pour in the broth and gently mix to coat the bread.
5. – Season the mixture with the dried sage, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir to incorporate the seasonings evenly.
6. – Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish or casserole.
7. – Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden-brown and crispy.
8. – Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For a moister stuffing, add an extra 1/4 cup of broth. For a drier, more crispy texture, reduce the broth by 1/4 cup. You can also customize the herbs and seasonings to your taste preferences.
