Ingredients
– 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 2-3 tablespoons milk or cream
– Purple, green, and gold sprinkles (for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round baking pan.
2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the biscuit dough into a large rectangle, about 12×8 inches.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Brush the dough with the melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.
4. Tightly roll up the dough from the long side to create a log. Slice the log into 8 equal pieces and arrange them in the prepared baking pan.
5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown.
6. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk or cream until a smooth glaze forms.
7. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and top with the colorful sprinkles.
8. Serve the King Cake Cinnamon Rolls warm and enjoy!
Notes
For extra indulgence, try adding a cream cheese or caramel drizzle on top of the rolls. Store any leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
