Indulge in the tangy, flavor-packed delight of Louisiana Pickled Shrimp! This easy recipe delivers an authentic Cajun experience in every bite, with juicy shrimp marinated in a zesty brine of vinegar, lemon, and Creole seasoning. Serve as a sophisticated appetizer or finger-licking snack.
Ingredients
– 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1 cup white vinegar
– 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons Creole seasoning
– 2 bay leaves
– 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, vinegar, lemon juice, Creole seasoning, bay leaves, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir to coat the shrimp evenly.
2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
3. Remove the bay leaves. Transfer the pickled shrimp to a serving dish and garnish with the chopped parsley.
4. Serve chilled or at room temperature with crusty bread or crackers for dipping.
Notes
For best flavor, allow the shrimp to marinate for at least 30 minutes. The longer the shrimp marinates, the more intense the flavor will be. You can also add thinly sliced onions or celery to the marinade for extra crunch and flavor.
