Ingredients

– 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

– 1/2 cup pure maple syrup

– 1/4 cup bourbon

– 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

– 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, bourbon, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the maple bourbon mixture over the top, making sure the chicken is evenly coated.

4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

5. Remove the chicken from the oven and sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.

6. Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the pecans are lightly toasted.

7. Serve the maple bourbon pecan chicken immediately, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

– For a crispier texture, broil the chicken for 2-3 minutes after adding the pecans.

– Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
