Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef

– 1 cup breadcrumbs

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1 egg

– 1/4 cup maple syrup

– 2 tbsp whiskey

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/2 tsp black pepper

– 8 slices bacon


Instructions

1. – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. – In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, maple syrup, whiskey, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.

3. – Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.

4. – Lay the bacon slices over the top of the meatloaf, overlapping them slightly.

5. – Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

6. – Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a more caramelized glaze, brush the meatloaf with additional maple syrup during the last 10 minutes of baking. You can also try different types of whiskey, such as bourbon or rye, to experiment with the flavor profile.
