Description

Indulge in the rich, velvety texture of these incredibly creamy mashed potatoes. Perfectly seasoned and ready in just 30 minutes, they make the ultimate comforting side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

– 3 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes

– 1 cup whole milk

– 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

1. – Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water by 1 inch.

2. – Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are very tender when pierced with a fork.

3. – Drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or ricer until smooth.

4. – Add the milk, butter, salt, and pepper, and continue mashing and stirring until the potatoes are creamy and well combined.

5. – Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

6. – Serve the mashed potatoes hot, garnished with fresh chives if desired.

Notes

For extra richness, use half-and-half or heavy cream instead of milk. You can also add roasted garlic, chives, or shredded cheese for extra flavor.
