Description

Indulge in the aromatic delight of Matcha Pound Cake, a classic recipe with a unique twist that blends the richness of traditional pound cake with the earthy, vibrant flavor of green tea matcha. This delectable dessert is perfect for tea time, gatherings, or as a sweet treat any time of day.

Ingredients

– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

– 4 large eggs, at room temperature

– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup matcha green tea powder

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal.

2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Avoid overmixing.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then use the parchment paper to lift it out and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality matcha powder. Serve the Matcha Pound Cake with a dusting of powdered sugar, a dollop of whipped cream, or alongside a cup of fragrant green tea.
