Description

Discover the delightful flavors of Middle Eastern Zaatar Yogurt Chicken, a quick and easy family-style dinner that’s ready in just 30 minutes. This dish combines tender chicken with a creamy, tangy yogurt sauce infused with the warm spices of zaatar seasoning.

Ingredients

– 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

– 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

– 2 tablespoons zaatar seasoning

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tablespoon lemon juice

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– Chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, mix together the chicken, yogurt, zaatar seasoning, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until the chicken is evenly coated.

2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is lightly browned.

3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

4. Serve the Middle Eastern Zaatar Yogurt Chicken warm, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

This dish is best served immediately, but any leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. The chicken can also be baked in the oven at 400°F for 20-25 minutes instead of cooking on the stovetop.
