Description

Moose Farts is a classic comfort food dish that’s sure to delight your taste buds. Featuring tender moose meat in a rich, savory sauce, this recipe is easy to prepare and sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients

– 2 lbs moose meat, cubed

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 cups beef broth

– 1 cup red wine

– 2 tbsp tomato paste

– 1 tsp dried thyme

– 1 tsp dried rosemary

– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1- Begin by trimming any excess fat from the Moose meat and cutting it into 1-inch cubes. This will help the Moose Farts cook evenly.

2- In your Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Working in batches if needed, sear the Moose Farts on all sides until they’ve got a nice golden-brown crust. This should take about 2-3 minutes per batch.

3- Once all the Moose Farts are seared, reduce the heat to low and add the chopped onions. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are softened and fragrant.

4- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until you can really smell that amazing aroma.

5- Pour in the beef broth and maple syrup, then give everything a good stir. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the pot and let the Moose Farts cook for 2-2.5 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meat is incredibly tender.

6- Remove the lid and let the Moose Farts continue simmering for 20-30 minutes more, allowing the sauce to thicken up. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a thicker sauce, you can remove the lid from the pot during the last 30 minutes of baking. This allows some of the liquid to evaporate, resulting in a more rich and flavorful sauce.
