Oat and Chia Bread is a delicious and nutritious homemade bread that’s perfect for toast, sandwiches, and more. This quick and easy recipe yields a soft, flavorful loaf that’s packed with the wholesome goodness of oats and chia seeds.
Ingredients
– 2 cups rolled oats
– 1/4 cup chia seeds
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 cup honey
– 1 1/4 cups milk
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir to mix.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, milk, and vegetable oil.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined, being careful not to overmix.
5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
– For a variation, try adding in 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans.
– This bread can be stored at room temperature for up to 4 days, or frozen for longer term storage.
