Grandma’s classic Piped Chocolate Butter Cookies are a rich, buttery, and decadent treat that melt in your mouth. These cookies feature a delicious chocolate filling piped into the centers, creating a delightful contrast of textures and flavors.
Ingredients
– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 egg
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
6. Scoop the dough by the tablespoonful and roll into small balls. Place the balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
7. Using a piping bag or a small spoon, pipe or dollop a small amount of chocolate chips into the center of each cookie.
8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an extra decadent touch, you can drizzle the cooled cookies with melted chocolate or dust them with powdered sugar. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
