Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 tablespoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed and chilled

– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

– 3/4 cup cold milk


Instructions

1. – Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

2. – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. – Cut in the chilled butter using a pastry blender or two forks until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4. – Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.

5. – Pour in the cold milk and stir just until a shaggy dough forms. Do not overmix.

6. – Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan, gently pressing it into an even layer.

7. – Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. – Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
