Ingredients
– 3 lbs red potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
– 1 cup whole milk
– 6 tbsp unsalted butter
– 1 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. 1. Place the peeled and cut red potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
2. 2. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are fork-tender.
3. 3. Drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot.
4. 4. Add the milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
