– 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 1/4 cups buttermilk

– 2 large eggs

– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

– 1 teaspoon red food coloring

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter.

3. Pour the buttermilk mixture into the flour mixture and stir just until combined, being careful not to overmix.

4. Divide the batter in half and stir the red food coloring into one half.

5. Preheat your waffle iron and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

6. Pour batter onto the hot waffle iron, using about 1/2 cup of batter per waffle. Close the lid and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.

7. Serve the Red Velvet Marble Waffles immediately, topped with your favorite toppings such as whipped cream, fresh berries, and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes
