Description

Ingredients
– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 packet active dry yeast
– 1/2 cup warm milk
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 egg
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
– 2 cups powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. – Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. – In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
3. – Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
4. – On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 12×18 inch rectangle.
5. – In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
6. – Roll the dough tightly into a log, starting from the long side. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces.
7. – Place the cinnamon roll slices in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
8. – While the rolls bake, make the frosting. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in the vanilla.
9. – Remove the cinnamon rolls from the oven and immediately spread the cream cheese frosting over the top.
10. – Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For an extra indulgent treat, add chopped pecans or walnuts to the cinnamon-sugar filling. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
