Description

Indulge in the mouthwatering combination of tender steak, creamy queso, and fluffy rice in this quick and easy Steak Queso Rice dish. Perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

– 1 lb flank steak, sliced into bite-sized pieces

– 1 cup uncooked white rice

– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

– 1/2 cup milk

– 2 tbsp butter

– 1 tsp garlic powder

– 1 tsp chili powder

– 1/2 tsp cumin

– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1- Start by marinating the flank steak in a mixture of chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes to soak up all that delicious flavor.

2- While the steak is marinating, prepare the rice according to the package instructions. Fluff it with a fork when it’s done and set it aside.

3- In a large skillet or Dutch oven, sauté the onion and garlic in a bit of oil until they’re soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

4- Next, add the marinated steak to the pan and sear it on both sides until it’s perfectly medium-rare, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes.

5- Once the steak has rested, slice it into bite-sized pieces and add it back to the pan with the cooked rice and queso sauce. Stir everything together until it’s well combined and heated through.

6- Serve your Steak Queso Rice hot, garnished with any extra toppings you like, such as chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, or a sprinkle of shredded cheese.

Notes

For extra creaminess, you can stir in a couple tablespoons of cream cheese or sour cream. Garnish with fresh cilantro, green onions, or a squeeze of lime.
