Description

This vibrant Sumac Onion Salad is a refreshing and flavor-packed side dish that’s ready in just 10 minutes. The tangy, crunchy onions are tossed in a bright lemon and sumac dressing, making it the perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or enjoyed on its own as a light meal.

Ingredients

– 1 large red onion, thinly sliced

– 2 tablespoons sumac

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced red onion, sumac, olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, and salt. Toss to coat the onions evenly.

2. Let the salad sit for 5-10 minutes, tossing occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.

3. Serve the Sumac Onion Salad immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For a more pronounced sumac flavor, let the salad sit for 15-20 minutes before serving. The salad can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
