Description

Swirled Garlic Herb And Cheese Bread is a heavenly, easy-to-make homemade bread with a delicious blend of herbs and melted cheeses. This comforting and flavorful bread is perfect for serving alongside soups, stews, or as a snack.

Ingredients

– 3 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

– 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast

– 1 cup warm water

– 1/4 cup olive oil

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary

– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

– 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. – In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar. Create a well in the center and add the warm water and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

2. – Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

3. – Roll the dough out into a large rectangle, about 12×18 inches.

4. – In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, parsley, and rosemary. Spread the garlic-herb mixture evenly over the dough.

5. – Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses over the top.

6. – Starting from the short side, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.

7. – Using a sharp knife, cut the log in half lengthwise, leaving one end intact. Twist the two halves together, then place in a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan.

8. – Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

9. – Preheat the oven to 375°F.

10. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

– For extra flavor, brush the top of the loaf with melted butter or olive oil before baking.

– Experiment with different herb and cheese combinations to make it your own.

– Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
