Ingredients

– 1 pound ground beef

– 2 tablespoons soy sauce

– 2 tablespoons fish sauce

– 2 tablespoons brown sugar

– 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

– 12 small dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls, split in half

– 2 scallions, thinly sliced

– 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.

3. Add the soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir to combine and let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

4. Spoon the Thai Sloppy Joe mixture evenly onto the bottom halves of the dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls.

5. Top with the sliced scallions and chopped cilantro (if using).

6. Place the top halves of the rolls on the sliders and serve immediately.

Notes

For added flavor, you can toast the buns before assembling the sliders. The sloppy joe mixture can also be made in advance and reheated before assembling the sliders.
