Description
Tender, flavorful Thanksgiving green beans are a classic holiday side dish that’s easy to make and sure to delight your family and guests.
Ingredients
– 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. 1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch for 2-3 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop the cooking.
2. 2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
3. 3. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic oil. Season with salt and pepper.
4. 4. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender and lightly caramelized.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add chopped pecans, shallots, or a splash of balsamic vinegar. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
