Description

This elegant tuna crudo dish is a light and refreshing starter, featuring delicate slices of fresh tuna topped with a tangy citrus caper vinaigrette. The bright, zesty flavors complement the delicate texture of the tuna perfectly.

Ingredients

– 1 pound sushi-grade tuna, sliced into thin strips

– 2 oranges, segmented

– 1 grapefruit, segmented

– 2 tablespoons capers, drained

– 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

– 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

– 1 tablespoon lemon juice

– 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

– 1 garlic clove, minced

– Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

– Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

2. Gently toss the tuna strips, citrus segments, and capers with the vinaigrette until well coated.

3. Arrange the tuna crudo on a serving platter or individual plates. Drizzle with any remaining vinaigrette and garnish with chopped parsley.

4. Serve immediately, with additional lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

For best texture, use sushi-grade tuna and slice it very thin. The citrus segments can be prepared in advance and tossed with the vinaigrette just before serving.
