Description

Turkish Ezme is a vibrant and flavorful Mediterranean appetizer made with a delicious blend of fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions, herbs, and a zesty lemon-garlic dressing. This quick and easy dish is perfect for serving as a dip, spread, or topping for pita bread or crackers.

Ingredients

– 3 ripe tomatoes, diced

– 1 red bell pepper, diced

– 1 green bell pepper, diced

– 1 small red onion, finely chopped

– 1 clove garlic, minced

– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

– 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, bell peppers, and chopped onion.

2. Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

3. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more lemon juice, vinegar, salt, or pepper to taste.

4. Cover and let the flavors meld for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve Turkish Ezme as a dip with pita bread, crackers, or crostini. It also makes a great topping for grilled meats or fish. For a creamier texture, you can stir in a tablespoon or two of Greek yogurt. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
