These Vegan Buffalo Cauliflower Wings are a crispy, flavorful appetizer that’s sure to be the hit of any party or game day spread. Coated in a spicy-sweet buffalo sauce, they make a delicious and guilt-free alternative to traditional chicken wings.
Ingredients
– 1 head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk (such as almond or soy)
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
– 2 tablespoons vegan butter, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, plant-based milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne, and salt until a smooth batter forms.
3. Add the cauliflower florets to the batter and toss to coat each piece evenly.
4. Arrange the battered cauliflower in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy.
6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the hot sauce and melted vegan butter.
7. Toss the baked cauliflower wings in the buffalo sauce until evenly coated.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions or celery sticks, and your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
Notes
– For extra crispy wings, you can lightly spray the battered cauliflower with cooking oil before baking.
– Adjust the amount of hot sauce to your desired level of spiciness.
