This quick and easy white wine lemon caper sauce is the perfect topping for seafood, chicken, or pasta dishes. The tangy, buttery sauce comes together in just 15 minutes and adds a gourmet touch to any meal.
Ingredients
– 1/2 cup dry white wine
– 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons capers, drained and rinsed
– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
– 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
– Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the white wine, lemon juice, and capers. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
2. Reduce heat to low and whisk in the butter, one tablespoon at a time, until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
4. If desired, stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the sauce is thickened slightly.
5. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
6. Serve the white wine lemon caper sauce immediately over grilled or sautéed seafood, chicken, or pasta.
Notes
– For a thicker sauce, you can whisk in a teaspoon or two of cornstarch mixed with water.
– Try adding a splash of white wine vinegar or a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra tanginess and heat.
– This sauce can be made in advance and reheated gently before serving.
