Description

Indulge in the perfect balance of sweet apples and crunchy topping with this easy-to-make Apple Crisp Pie. Featuring a buttery crust, tender apple filling, and a golden-brown crumble topping, this comforting dessert is sure to become a new family favorite.

Ingredients

– 1 9-inch pie crust, homemade or store-bought

– 6 cups peeled, sliced apples (about 6-8 medium apples)

– 3/4 cup brown sugar

– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. 2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, 1/4 cup of the flour, and the cinnamon. Toss to coat the apples evenly.

3. 3. Unroll the pie crust and press it into a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges to create a decorative border.

4. 4. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust.

5. 5. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup flour, oats, and cubed butter. Use a fork or your fingers to mix and crumble the ingredients until a coarse, crumbly mixture forms.

6. 6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling.

7. 7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden-brown and the filling is bubbling.

8. 8. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

For a deeper apple flavor, try using a mix of different apple varieties. The crumble topping can also be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator until ready to use.
