Description
Enjoy the comforting flavors of authentic German Spaghetti, a quick and easy pasta dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights or satisfying cravings. This recipe features a rich, tomato-based sauce with ground beef, perfectly cooked al dente noodles, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1 onion, diced
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
– 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
– 2 teaspoons dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 12 ounces spaghetti noodles
– 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.
3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions, until al dente.
5. Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated.
6. Serve the German Spaghetti hot, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
For a creamier sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream or half-and-half to the sauce. You can also customize the dish by adding sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, or other vegetables.
