Yes, not all flautas are healthful. However, the majority are cooked in the right manner. What is a flauta?

What is the difference between a flautas and a taquito?
Flautas vs Taquitos: Here is my view of the differences between flautas and taquitos
- The distinction in the name is typically regional.
- The fillings are typically similar as cheese, meat or a similar combination.
- Size matters: Taquitos are typically smaller (made using small taco-sized tortillas); Flautas are usually large or longer (made using large burrito size tortillas)
- Type matters: Taquitos are generally made using corn tortillas. Flautas can be made using either, but taquitos or Flautas made from flour tortillas tend to be more Tex-Mex and not traditional.

Air Fryer Flautas Ingredients
For making Air Fryer Flautas, you’ll need 5 principal ingredients:
Approximately 1 cup leftover cooked chicken breasts, beef or pork-you can also use ground beef pre-cooked and made into taco meat.
Your preferred salsa – I love making a bean and corn salsa mix for this recipe. However, it’s really your choice! Anything you have in your pantry should be able to work!
Shredded cheese – any kind of shredded Mexican blend or cheddar will work perfectly.
Flour tortillas (taco size tortillas) – the sole reason behind this is that larger tortillas don’t fit in the air-fryer i have. Try a larger size when you have a larger air fryer. It is important to note that, taquitos are prepared using corn tortillas, whereas flautas are made from flour tortillas.
Refried beans: Mexican-style refried beans can help you create authentic and delicious Mexican-style flautas
How to make Air Fryer Flautas
The same steps will be followed regardless of the filling you choose to use.
Preheat your air fryer to 375F for 4 minutes. In a bowl, mix your cooked meat, cheese, salsa and refried beans together until the mixture is blended.
Place the filling in a straight line across the broadest part of the tortilla. Then, gently roll it up and place it on a baking sheet, seam side at the bottom to ensure it doesn’t fall apart.
After being preheated, place them in the basket in a single layer, and ensure to don’t overlap with the seams set at the bottom. Air fry for around 8 – 10 minutes.
At the 4th minute, flip it over and at minute 8, look if you wish them to brown, if yes, spray them with olive, then air fry for a couple of minutes (1-2 minutes).
Top with your favorite toppings, sour cream Guacamole is my favorite choice. Serve with some greens to get a full meal.
